Juillet 2023 - Turin

Voilà, nous y sommes.

Voilà maintenant 1 mois que nous sommes arrivés à Turin. Beaucoup de choses ont changé pour nous lors de ce dernier mois. La température, le complexe sportif, les horaires, nos coéquipiers, les coachs. Nous avons eu la chance d’être accompagnés par un corps de professeurs exceptionnel, tant sur le plan professionnel que personnel.

Commençons par Sara et Kirill. C’est la première fois que nous les rencontrions. Un coup de cœur, littéralement. Sara, une petite boule d’amour, et Kiril, une force incroyable. Nous avons travaillé sur notre free avec Sara sur la première partie du stage, ainsi que sur les échauffements collectifs du matin qui étaient dirigés par un coach différent chaque jour. Leur présence nous a fait beaucoup de bien. Avoir de tels patineurs, si inspirants, qui fondent une école de patinage à deux, en Europe, et ce, avec autant d’amour et de respect pour leur sport et ses protagonistes, quel bonheur… Nous gardons un peu d’espoir en notre sport quand nous rencontrons des personnes comme vous 🖤.

Les patineurs s’entraînant à Madrid avec Sara et Kirill étaient aussi présents avec nous pendant ces 4 semaines - Sofia & Asaf - Paulina & Dev - Philomène & Raùl - Elena & Antonio.

Nous connaissions déjà les 3 premiers couples énumérés, notamment Sofia, Paulina & Dev et Philomène & Raul, avec qui nous nous sommes entraînés par le passé, Asaf que nous connaissons des compétitions, et nous avons rencontré et appris à connaître Elena et Antonio, le seul couple junior de ce mois de Juillet à Turin.

Ces 4 couples ont réellement apporté un vent de fraîcheur dans la ville haha. Ce fut un plaisir de partager la glace, le off-ice et les sorties avec eux. Beaucoup de travail, de fous rires, beaucoup de joie et surtout beaucoup de shaaaaade !

Nous sommes super fiers de vous tous et nous vous souhaitons le meilleur pour l’avenir. Nous vous souhaitons de vous épanouir, de trouver votre joie intérieure au travers de cette aventure qu'est le patinage.

On continue sur la vague latine avec les Italiens et les Slovaques entraînés par Luca Lanotte à Milan. Luca qui a fait notre programme court au mois d’avril. Nous avons eu du temps pour retravailler à ses côtés sur notre RD pour la rendre encore meilleure. C’est un réel bonheur de travailler avec Luca. Ce coach a le pouvoir de créer un environnement sain indescriptible autour de nous lorsque nous travaillons ensemble. Nous pourrions travailler avec lui tous les jours… Luca est venu avec Victoria & Carlo, couple italien, et Sofia & Nikkita, couple slovaque. Nous avions rencontré Victoria & Carlo l’été dernier pendant notre stage à Lyon et nous avons rencontré Sofia & Nikkita en avril lors du montage de notre programme court à Milan. Contrairement aux Espagnols, ils resteront avec nous jusqu’à la fin du stage mi-août. Des patineurs très inspirants tant techniquement qu'artistiquement.

Ensuite, nous avons évidemment retrouvé notre équipe habituelle d’Helsinki, Yuka & Juho, Juulia & Matthias et Sherim & Chelsea, ainsi que notre coach Maurizio Margaglio. Nous sommes super heureux d’avoir pu revoir Sherim & Chelsea que nous n’avions pas vus depuis plusieurs mois auparavant, et c’est évidemment avec joie que nous retrouvons nos Finlandais Yuka & Juho et Juulia & Matthias, qui font (presque) partie de notre quotidien depuis 2 ans.

Nous avons reçu la visite d’Isabelle Delobel pendant la deuxième semaine (championne du monde 2008). De la free à la RD en passant par les échauffements, Isabelle nous a gâtés d’une perspective différente et de conseils que nous allons pouvoir développer pendant le reste de la saison. Nous avions eu l’opportunité de travailler avec Isabelle en 2019 et en 2020 lorsque nous étions encore à Lyon et sommes ravis d’avoir pu réitérer l’expérience une nouvelle fois 3 ans après. Oui, 3 ans après… le temps passe vite !!!

Emanuele s’est occupé des cours de ballet et de moderne 3 fois par semaine, cours remplis d’échanges et de joie, et Mirco s’est occupé de la préparation physique et de l’équilibre. Il y en avait bien besoin hahahah.

Nous avons aussi fait la très belle et inattendue rencontre de Giuliano Maurel. Giuliano est le photographe qui nous a fait les derniers portraits en sépia que nous avons postés sur nos réseaux. Merci pour ta bienveillance et ton professionnalisme. D’autres photos sont en chemin…

Pour résumer, ce fut un très beau mois de juillet, sans regret et le cœur plein d’étoiles. Merci à tous, merci à Maurizio pour toute cette organisation, merci au CUS de Torino de nous accueillir, merci à tous les coachs, tous les patineurs, et tous les parents et supporters sans qui tout ça ne serait pas possible. On vous aime.

Le mois d’août va sûrement nous réserver aussi plein de surprises avec la venue de Neil Brown, de nos couples juniors de Finlande Emma & Oskari, et de l’arrivée à grands pas des tests nationaux 2023 à Lyon.

Ciao Ragazzi !

Here we are, one month into our stay in Turino. So much has changed for us during this past month. The weather, the area, the schedules, our teammates, and the coaches – everything was different. We've been blessed to be guided by an exceptional group of teachers, both professionally and personally.

Let's start with Sara and Kirill. It was our first time meeting them, and it was love at first sight. Sara, such a sweat heart, and Kiril, incredibly strong. We worked on our free dance with Sara during the first part of the camp, and also participated in the collective morning warm-ups led by a different coach each day. Their presence was so uplifting. Having such inspiring skaters, who founded a skating school together in Europe, with so much love and respect for their sport and its participants, it's truly a blessing. It gives us hope for our sport when we meet people like you 🖤.

The skaters training with Sara and Kirill in Madrid were also with us during these four weeks – Sofia & Asaf, Paulina & Dev, Philomène & Raùl, and Elena & Antonio.

We already knew the first three couples listed, especially Sofia, Paulina & Dev, and Philomène & Raul, with whom we trained in the past. Asaf, whom we know from competitions, and, we had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Elena and Antonio, the only junior couple with us this July in Turino.

These four couples brought a breath of fresh air to the city, haha! It was a joy to share the ice, off-ice activities, and outings with them. There was a lot of work, laughter, joy, and of course, a lot of shaaaade !!!

We're incredibly proud of all of you and wish you all the best for the future. May you flourish and find inner happiness through this skating adventure.

Now, let's continue with the Latin vibes and the Italians and Slovaks trained by Luca Lanotte in Milan. Luca, who choreographed our short program in April. We had the time to work with him again on our RD to make it even better. Working with Luca is pure blessing. He creates an indescribable safe space around us when we work together. We would work with him every day! Luca came with Victoria & Carlo, an Italian couple, and Sofia & Nikkita, a Slovakian couple. We met Victoria & Carlo last summer during our camp in Lyon, and we met Sofia & Nikkita in April during the creation of our short program in Milan. Unlike the Spanish group of skaters, they'll be with us until mid-August. These skaters are truly inspiring both technically and artistically.

Next, we happily reunited with our regular team from Helsinki – Yuka & Juho, Juulia & Matthias, and Sherim & Chelsea – along with our coach Maurizio Margaglio. We were thrilled to see Sherim & Chelsea again after not having seen them for several months, and of course, it's a joy to be with our Finns, Yuka & Juho and Juulia & Matthias, who have been (almost!) part of our daily lives for the past 2 years.

During the second week, we had a visit from Isabelle Delobel (2008 world champion). From the free skate to the RD through warm-ups, Isabelle gave us a fresh perspective and valuable advices that we'll carry with us throughout the season. We had the opportunity to work with Isabelle in 2019 and 2020 when we were still in Lyon, and we're delighted to have had the chance to work with her again after 3 years. Time flies!

Emanuele took care of our ballet and modern dance classes three times a week, filled with sharing and joy, and Mirco focused on physical training and balance. Much needed, hahahah!

We also had the wonderful and unexpected pleasure of meeting Giuliano Maurel. Giuliano is the photographer who took our recent sepia portraits that we posted on our social media. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism. More photos are on the way!

In summary, it's been a beautiful July, filled with no regrets and our hearts full of stars. Thank you all, thank you Maurizio for all the organization, thanks to CUS Turin for welcoming us, thanks to all the coaches, all the skaters, and all the parents and supporters without whom none of this would be possible. We love you all.

August will surely bring us more surprises with the arrival of Neil Brown, our junior couples from Finland, Enna & Oskari, and the approaching 2023 national tests in Lyon.
